Hazlin not only produces high quality, bespoke veneered doors but with a dedicated manufacturing operation, has the facilities and skilled craftsmen to produce customised vision panels to suit any project and design requirements.

Typical vision panels are rectangular or square, circular, elliptical, “D” shaped or diamond shaped.

With flexible manufacturing methods employed by Hazlin, we are not restricted to offering only rectangular or circular vision panels, as long as stipulations in relation to fire certification can be met glass can be cut to suit the project then Hazlin will use its expertise in specialist manufacturing to meet your customisation needs.

 

Vision apertures for fire doors must meet Building Regulations 2004 Approved Document B & M

 

Vision panels are not restricted to geometric shapes

 

All production is covered under ISO 9001 quality system and third party accreditation scheme for fire doors – Q Mark, run as a division of TRADA (Timber Research & Development Association)

Vision panels are not restricted to the chamfered and rebated glazing bead known as the hockey stick

 

Project style and innovation is catered for with complex vision panels such as ellipses, D shaped and enhanced vision panels with mouldings 4FD60 doors can contain a maximum of 0.82m2 of glazing in the door leaf

 

FD90/FD120 doors are based on a percentage of the door leaf. There are some exceptions, for example multiple or long thin doors are restricted to 0.2 m2

Glazing which allows for style and innovation in design

Fire test evidence and certification allows for the use of 16 different types of glass

The glass used for the majority of fire doors now manufactured is Pyrobelite or Pyrobel

FD120 doors require ceramic glasses

Solid timber beads

Only solid timber beads are used. Hazlin do not use MDF foil wrapped beads

 

Beads are sourced from similar material to the doors

 

Skilled craftsmen machine beads in dedicated premises, often from timber rips that hardwood frames are factory made from

 

Glazing beads are cut, mitred and made into a glazing cassette

 

Beads are spray finished (clear and stained doors) before being fitted to the door

 

Spray painted doors with glazing frame will be sprayed complete

 

Usually beads are pin fastened to the door in accordance with fire certification

 

Other methods of fixing are cups and screws, screwed and pelleted, security screw fixings etc
